The Charm of the Domino Game
As a long-standing tabletop game, Domino boasts a rich cultural heritage and simple, intuitive rules. It's not just a game of intelligence but also a social tool that allows people to enjoy the fun of strategic battles in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. Through its varied gameplay and strategy combinations, every round of the Domino game offers a fresh and challenging experience.
How to Master the Domino Game
For beginners, understanding how to play the domino game is the first step towards becoming a pro. Domino consists of 28 tiles, each divided into two ends marked with dots. The objective is to match the corresponding dots and place all the tiles in your hand on the table. At the start of the game, each player has 7 tiles, and the dealer plays the first tile. Subsequently, players take turns adding tiles that match the dots on the last tile on the table until no more plays can be made, indicating the end of the game.
Domino Dealer Rules:
- First Round: The player who joins the table first is the dealer for that round.
- Subsequent Rounds: If the previous round's winner remains at the table, they become the dealer for the next round. Otherwise, the first player to join the table becomes the dealer.
Domino Playing Rules:
- The dealer can choose any tile to play first, setting the ends of the board with the numbers on that tile.
- Other players must play tiles from their hand that match the numbers on either end of the board.
- Must play if able: If players have a tile that can be played, they must play it.
- If a player can connect to either end of the board, they can choose which end to play on.
Passing Logic:
- If a player has no playable tiles to match the ends of the board, they can "pass."
- A passing player must pay the previous player who made a move an amount equal to one base point.
Domino Playing Actions:
- Players can drag and drop a tile to the play area to play it; if not placed in the play area, the tile will return to the player's hand.
- If the played tile can connect to both ends, it will be placed on the closest end. In case of equal distance, it will connect to the end with the higher number.
End of a Domino Round:
Rounds can end in two ways: a regular ending or a stalemate.
- Regular Ending: A player runs out of tiles, ending the game in a "regular ending."
- Stalemate: No player can make a move, ending the game in a "stalemate."
Domino Scoring Formula:
- Winner's score = (Multiplier × Number of losers × Base point) - (Pass count × Base point)
- Loser's score = 0 - (Multiplier × Base point) - (Pass count × Base point)
